A lakeside โ€˜I doโ€™ at Camp Mataponi

Shooting a wedding at Camp Mataponi felt like stepping into a storybook version of summer in Maine.

The view over Sebago Lake alone was enough to make me pause between shotsโ€”the water stretching out in soft blues, catching the light in a way that made every moment feel a little more cinematic. A cool breeze rolled off the lake all day, keeping everyone relaxed and giving the whole celebration this effortless, livedโ€‘in charm. The wildlife was everywhere in the best wayโ€”a guest appearance from a bald eagle flying over, tall pine trees framing every scene. The natural light filters through the trees in these warm, golden ribbons that make skin tones glow and candid moments feel even more intimate.

Thereโ€™s so much space at Camp Mataponi that nothing ever feels rushed or crowded. Guests wander, kids explore, couples sneak away for quiet lakeside portraits. The whole place has this relaxed, nostalgic energy that lets people be fully themselvesโ€”and thatโ€™s when the most beautiful photos happen. As a photographer, itโ€™s the kind of setting that reminds you why you love what you do. The light, the breeze, the lake, the laughterโ€”it all comes together so naturally.
